Since we launched our lobbying database earlier this month, fellow political wonks around California have conducted thousands of searches and given us dozens of pieces of feedback for how we can make the service more useful.
In response to some of that early feedback, we’ve added a couple of new features to the form: namely, including a bit more information about bills and bill sponsors. We hope the information, delivered by Sunlight Labs’ Open States API, will make it a bit easier to make sense of the search results.
But we don’t want to stop there. We have plans to make major improvements and additions to this app before the legislative session begins again next year – and we could use your help.
Please take a minute to fill out the few questions below. You’ll be helping us prioritize what features we should focus on in the coming months so our database can be even more useful come January.
