Racist, homophobic messages left for Senator over Palin fees

State Sen. Leland Yee says he's received some nasty, racist and homophobic messages since beginning his campaign to reveal former Gov. Sarah Palin's speaking fees at a California public university.

Yee, a Democrat from San Francisco, has been demanding documents from CSU Stanislaus and the Stanislaus Foundation over Palin's scheduled speech at the university in June. Documents may have been shredded last week in an effort to hide fees paid to her, which Yee thinks could exceed $100,000.

According to Yee's office, one fax to his office read:

To: JoBama Rectum Sniffer Fish Head Leland Yee” and then in all capital letters, “WERE YOU TO EXTRACT YOUR HEAD FROM TREASONOUS MARXIST NIG**R HUSSEIN OBAMA’S RECTUM, YOUR BRAIN WOULD STILL FUNCTION AT ITS PRESENT MUCH DIMINISHED LEVEL BUT AT LEAST THE NIG**R SH*T SMELL WOULD EVENTUALLY DISSIPATE.

OK then. According to Yee, the fax included a graphic of an American flag adorned pickup truck dragging a noose, and also states: “FIGHTING The Marxist Nig**r Thug Hussein Obama” and “Safeguard the Constitution, Death of all Domestic Marxists!” A second fax (apparently from the same sender) reads:

NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON:  lyeesucksobamasnig**ras*.com,” as well as “JoBama.  HE IS BRAVE ENOUGH TO KILL OUR UNBORN, JUST NOT BRAVE ENOUGH TO CALL OUR ENEMIES WHAT THEY ARE: Muslim Terrorists!”

The fax also includes a rifle scope targeting a shirt with the communist hammer and sickle symbol, Yee's office said. But there's more! A phone message left a Yee's office went like this:

You know, I heard that Senator Yee wants to nix Sarah Palin from speaking at Stanislaus State, taking away our Constitutional right to freedom of speech. Maybe we ought to have a homosexual with a long enough di*k to where he can stick it up his as* and fu*k himself while he is on stage giving a speech.  That would be acceptable to Leland Yee.  So, good thing you run in San Francisco ‘cause you’d never make it anywhere else.”

Yee said he was forwarding the messages to the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms to investigate. Yee has already asked the attorney general’s office to investigate the university’s refusal to turn over documents on the issue. University President Hamid Shirvani has said Palin’s contract with the foundation required that her fee remain confidential.

“It is quite disturbing that such racist and homophobic sentiment still exists in our country,” said Yee in a press release. “It is unfortunate acts like these that demonstrate why we must continue to be vigilant against hate and intolerance."

Shirvani said the students who recovered the shredded documents should be investigated for stealing from the university. The five-page document was recovered from a bin outside the office of a vice president of the university. The AP reported that Shrivani has asked police in Turlock to investigate the matter.

Here is how one student, Alicia Lewis, described finding the document, which included portions of Palin's contract that demanded private jet travel, bendy straws near her unopened water bottles, and three luxury suites:

"We saw a student taking out garbage into the dumpsters," Lewis said at a recent press conference, "and we started looking to see if we saw anything suspicious. We opened the dumpster and it had paper documents that were related to the university. ... After going through the documents, we be found pages 4-9 of the Sarah Palin contract, and it was mixed in with the university paperwork."
