This interactive graphic by The Sacramento Bee shows the nearly 150 groups that recorded positions on 10 or more bills in the 2011 legislative session, and declared lobbying expenses during that period. Four dimensions are shown for each group: the type of group, its winning percentage, the number of positions it took and its spending on lobbying. Groups at the top of the chart were more successful, and groups at the right of the chart were most active in recording their support or opposition to bills. The large circles represent the groups that spent the most.
Hover over a circle to see the group's name and other information. Use the zoom tools to view areas of the chart more closely. Click and drag to pan across the chart.
