The nation is growing older, census data shows

While the population of the United States is growing older and more racially and ethnically diverse every year, the picture looks a bit different from the Golden State. According to recent Census Bureau estimates for California, 25 percent of people are under 18, and about 10 percent of the population is 65 or older. Find out how your county has changed since 2000.
