Scripps College has highest tuition/fees

While public colleges are tuition-free for state residents, some charge pricey fees. Look up rates for more than 300 private and public colleges across California for the 2008-'09 school year. Universities with multiple locations are listed under the city where the campus is located.

  • Total cost, living on campus: In-state tuition and fees plus the cost of books, supplies, on-campus room and board and more.
  • Total cost, living off campus: In-state tuition and fees plus the cost of books, supplies, off-campus room and board and more.
  • Tuition/fees only: Does not include other costs of living, such as books, supplies and room and board.

Note: the Department of Education was unable to collect data from some colleges, so some may not appear on this list.
