Scripps College has highest tuition/fees

While public colleges are tuition-free for state residents, some charge pricey fees. Look up rates for more than 300 private and public colleges across California for the 2008-'09 school year. Universities with multiple locations are listed under the city where the campus is located.

  • Total cost, living on campus: In-state tuition and fees plus the cost of books, supplies, on-campus room and board and more.
  • Total cost, living off campus: In-state tuition and fees plus the cost of books, supplies, off-campus room and board and more.
  • Tuition/fees only: Does not include other costs of living, such as books, supplies and room and board.

Note: the Department of Education was unable to collect data from some colleges, so some may not appear on this list.

I think we should not ask student more money. The lower rates the better education. Scripps College hope has some reasons for.

It is good to notice the private participation in spreading the literacy and education among the masses. But, there should also be a monitoring mechanism to reign on the unscrupulous and exploitative elements in the system. Thanks for the nice post. used auto parts

The cost for houseing drives up total cost. Your better off letting your kids stay at home and go to local college to save almost half the total cost. I do not like that they sometimes have lower fees for out of coutry or out of state students also.
