Whitman's self-funding passes $140 million

Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman has contributed more than $140 million to her own gubernatorial campaign, far outpacing her Democratic rival Jerry Brown. However, although the race remains tight, she has lagged behind Brown in recent polls.
