Asian American Journalists Association 2012 Media Access Workshop
Saturday, July 14, 2012 - 10:30am - 12:30pm
California Watch education reporter Joanna Lin and other journalists and media professionals – including Henry Fuhrmann of the Los Angeles Times and Alberto Mendez of KCBS – will appear on a panel for a workshop aimed at teaching community groups how to pitch their stories to and work with the media. Anh Do of Nguoi Viet Daily News will moderate.
Specific examples, case studies and small group exercises will help participants learn which pitches grab the attention of decision makers. Participants will also learn how they can help journalists understand diverse communities and issues.
