Community Forum: DREAMers and Deferred Action

Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Changes to an Obama administration policy applying to DREAM Act beneficiaries – a deferred action that could delay deportation – are still a month away. California Watch reporter Joanna Lin reports that community organizations are helping immigrants take steps to prepare for the upcoming adjustment.

The Asian Pacific American Legal Center is presenting a community forum for those who qualify for the DREAM Act. Attorneys will be on hand to explain the new deferred action policy for low-priority deportation cases, like students, as well as provide information on eligibility requirements, how to prepare the application and how to avoid potential fraud.

All attendees must RSVP for the event by July 10 here or by calling APALC policy intern Anthony Ng at 213-977-7500, ext. 830.
