Radio Ambulante: Stories from the Americas
Center for Investigative Reporting Community News Editor Ashley Alvarado will attend this bilingual conversation between KPCC reporter Adolfo Guzman-Lopez and Daniel Alarcón, co-founder of Radio Ambulante. A Spanish-language radio program, Radio Ambulante chronicles the life of Latin Americans in the United States and abroad through a collaboration between National Public Radio stations and independent journalists from more than nine countries.
Alarcón, who is also a novelist, will speak with Guzman-Lopez, KPCC's arts and education reporter, as part of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles' ALOUD series. They'll discuss the role radio and digital media play in keeping this kind of storytelling alive and relevant. The event is free, but tickets must be reserved here.
