California Watch contributor Janet Wilson will be participating in a webinar presented by Reporting on Health and Society for Environmental Journalists on how to use the “body burden” – the level of chemical pollutants found in the human body.

Wilson used body burden testing in her investigation into the public exposure of toxins in the industrial city of Maywood, about eight miles outside Los Angeles. She found that this community, which is the state's most densely populated, had been exposed to toxins routinely exceeding the legal limit and worked with the Martin family, longtime residents of Maywood, to see what toxic chemicals their blood tests would yield.
