Belva Davis has been the host of “This Week in Northern California” on KQED for more than 14 years and has anchored news programs at KPIX-TV and KRON-TV. She has received several awards for her journalism. Most recently, the Panetta Institute honored her with the inaugural Jefferson-Lincoln Award for journalism. She has won seven local Emmys, a certificate of excellence from the Associated Press Television and Radio Association of California and three honorary doctorates for her television work and community service. She was the first African-American woman hired to work as a television news reporter on the West Coast.
