Bill Deverell
Bio
William Deverell is a professor of history at USC and the director of the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West. He is the author of numerous studies chronicling the American West during the 19th and 20th centuries. Recent publications include “Whitewashed Adobe: The Rise of Los Angeles and the Remaking of Its Mexican Past” and the co-edited “Blackwell Companion to California History.” He is currently working on a book about the post-Civil War American West.
