Bio

Deia de Brito has been a reporting intern for California Watch. She is a second-year graduate student studying journalism at UC Berkeley. Deia has reported for Mission Loc@l, a hyper-local news site in San Francisco's Mission District as well as community newspapers such as the Potrero View. She was an intern at the Sacramento Bee and the San Francisco Bay Guardian. She has written stories about the redevelopment of public housing projects in San Francisco, a Daly City housing project built on toxic soil, and the problems with San Francisco's payday loan ordinance.
