Bio

Heather Tirado Gilligan is the assistant editor of Healthycal.org. She manages the team of writers who cover health and health policy in California for the community reports section and covers Oakland for the site. Before joining Healthycal.org, Heather was a freelance journalist, and her work appeared in publications including Real Clear Politics, thecaliforniareport.org and The Bay Citizen. She’s a graduate of UC Berkeley’s school of journalism, where she was a Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy Fellow from 2010-2011.
