Nathanael Johnson is a freelance writer living in San Francisco. He's working on a book, with the working title "The Heidi Hypothesis" that asks if finding harmony with nature really does make us healthier. His work has appeared in Harper's Magazine, New York, Outside, This American Life and Pop Up Magazine as well as on National Public Radio.
